This is the reason why it is important for all PC users to perform regular maintenance of their system and prevent these problems from occurring. For instance, many DLL files are damaged due to incorrect program install or uninstall steps. Therefore, when you are performing any of the two activities, you must be careful not to overwrite or delete any shared DLL. As DLLs need to be registered in the Windows registry, it is important for you to maintain a healthy registry.
You can easily do this with the help of a reliable registry cleaner tool. Additionally, to prevent errors due to outdated and incompatible files, you must keep your operating system and other software on it updated with the latest hotfixes, service packs and patches released by software manufacturers. Last but not least, keep your PC safe from malware and other external intruders by implementing a firewall and installing reliable antivirus and antispyware tools on the PC.
Does it work when running the compiled script yourself from the commandprompt or explorer? I searched for this on Google first, but nothing was specific enough. It always refers to "this application. Not sure what you mean by "running the compiled script yourself from the command prompt or explorer".
Do you mean "compiling" the script from the command prompt? I have no problem compiling or running the script. The problem is when I compile. Just before it compiles, that message pops up. It doesn't close the open app before compiling, but is compiles fine and runs fine. Sounds like a contradiction. Once I close that message, it compiles fine and runs fine. What happens when you run that taskkill command you specified from the CMD prompt? Test this with the proper version of CMD!
So when you run AutoIt3. So it seems like it's a problem with one of my two computers. But I have not been to identify why. Both files exist taskkill. I'm baffled. Check for the availability of the 32bits version of the dll on the computer with the error. I have no SysWOW64 folder or file on either computer. Not sure what that is. The problem is usually caused by a bad path.
Getting an answer is one thing, learning is another. I just had the same problem on my PC and after reading the microsoft article I noticed one slight difference in my Path Variable. The W in wbem was a Capital W instead of lower case w. Simply changing the W to a w fixed the problem.
Though you did 'fix' the problem, it wasn't the case, since system variables aren't case sensitive. You did, however, find a simpler way to fix the problem than we've used in the past. The actual problem is that the 'Type' of registry value is incorrect, which leads to the failure of the Path variable even though it appears to be valid. Since the Type information is only visible in a registry editor, you can't see it in the Environment Variables view you were using.
However, doing anything to change the Path variable will fix this, since the Type will be corrected when it is saved.
